ZELENKA plays BACH: Concert & CD Launch

Glenn Gould Studio: Sunday, June 6, 2010 at 3PM

For Immediate Release – April 15, 2010: Toronto cellist Winona Zelenka, recognized for her warm and luminous tone, celebrates the launch of her two-CD recording, J. S. Bach: Six Suites for Solo Cello on Marquis Classics with an exclusive performance. On Sunday, June 6 (note the 3PM starting time), Winona Zelenka takes centre stage at Glenn Gould Studio to perform Bach’s hauntingly beautiful Suites 1, 2 and 6.

“My journey with the Bach Suites has been at the very heart of my odyssey as a musician”, explains Zelenka. “With this recording, I feel I have expressed the search for my artistic soul that began as a child and continues, as a servant of music who wishes above all else to tell a story. With this as my greatest desire, I continue to believe that there is nothing that can’t be said with this amazing music.”
